Horoscope for the Week of November 16, 2003

15 November 2003

Tip of the Week:

The famous Swiss Psychologist, Carl G. Jung asserts that each deeper layer of the psyche tends to be in contradiction to or polarizes the previous layer. Jung refers to this as the paradoxical nature of the psyche. Paradox is a word that requires creative thinking and an open mind. This means that two or more things, perspectives, precepts etcetera can be true simultaneously even though they appear to be in contradiction to one another. This is the case especially in the dualistic, material dimension, the one that we occupy and currently understand as reality.

Truth becomes stable and singular only at higher levels of consciousness such as the "Buddhic Realm", otherwise called "The Realm of Unities". An example of this is that every person has a destiny or lives life according to a pre-destined set of probabilities in terms of character, behavior and experience. On the other hand, we each have access to degrees of Free Will.

To the dualistic mind, you cannot have both a destiny and free will. Dualistic thinking tends to reduce such truths to either/or limitation. The simple keyword is "and", Destiny 'and' Free Will are both true. Call destiny the "probability factor' and free will the "possibility factor".

The irony is that the disbelief in destiny often leads to living in the illusion of free will and actually leads to living according to probability. Further, this type of random thinking causes people to be excessively "outer referenced" and potentially out of tune with their true nature.

This tends to create confusion, imbalance of a wide variety of sorts and probably even psychosomatic illness. In other words, we can think that we are living a life of free will, but actually be in bondage to outer influences due to a lack of inner attunement. This is ultimately a problem for everyone.

Astrology both illustrates and promotes the reality that we do have a destiny and we do have free will simultaneously and that by having a sense of our destiny we can actually learn to balance 'outer referencing' with 'inner referencing', cultivate discernment and make better use of free will.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)

The light at the end of the tunnel is becoming brighter by the minute. A journey through the depths is now revealing new life. You have passed through an initiation of some kind. Finding your place in the world at this stage of your life continues as a central focus. Flow is ever a good word. It means learning to connect with the oneness without pushing too hard to be an individual. Attune to the rhythms of your environment while maintaining your own center. This is the artful way of life.

Taurus (Apr 21 - May 20)

Deepening the quality of your relationships continues. This includes expressing your self in new and independent ways. The setting of new boundaries is likely along with the breaking of old ones. This is seldom an easy task. People can get so set in their ways. Do you know any people like that? Perseverance is a good kind of stubbornness. Inflexibility is the culprit to keep away. How can you unselfishly express your independence? Do you feel that significant others are as giving, as they could be to help create new and better boundaries? It may be time to talk, for real!

Gemini (May 21 - Jun 20)

Tending to the quality of your lifestyle continues. Health is a key word. Familiar patterns and habits have gone on long enough. It may be time to experiment with new possibilities. Summon a good attitude to get things going. Intend to eliminate the associations of pleasure that you may have to activities that you know are not very good for you. Moderation is a good word but some times elimination is necessary. Life is full of variety. Get creative and experiment with some new expressions and experiences. Bring some healthy new twists into your life to replace some old tangles.

Cancer (Jun 21 - Jul 21)

Exercising leadership these days, may have more to do with taking initiative to get out of your own way than leading others. Every aspect of leadership has its time and place. Simply ask what you can do to help then take charge on that project. Enjoy bringing your creative contribution to people and situations without having to control anything. Do continue to pay attention to the details of the big picture. If you look widely enough, you will see that truly we are all one even though our world is sick with the illusion of the separate self. Associate reward to the act of giving and peace and happiness will be yours.

Leo (Jul 22 - Aug 21)

Making changes close to home continues as a central theme. Seeing through and beyond clutter in terms stuff, negative patterns, poor communication etcetera is ideal. This can start simply be cleaning really well. Alternatively, you may need to discern what is a dream and what is fantasy. It is often challenging to know what we truly want let alone have the courage to act on it. What we all really want, whether we know it or not, is depth of connection. How can you create this in your life? It is likely that some form of artistic expression will be a significant answer. Transfer your passions into expression.

Virgo (Aug 22 - Sep 23)

Your focus is deep and intense these days. In one-way or another you want to experience passion and drama. I hope that this is coming from a celebration of arts, culture and entertainment rather than conflict and rivalry. If strife is the case, then maybe you are not getting enough outer stimulation. Your work should be keeping you busy enough, yet too much work makes life dull and heavy. What can you do and where can you go with your playmate(s) to enjoy the world out there? Expand your horizons.

Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 21)

Autumn can be just as good a time as spring to clear and clean in preparation for the new season and year. Eliminating the old to make way for the new is an ever-present process for all of us. This metaphor extends to all aspects of our life. 'Use it or lose it', is the popular aphorism. Life moves quite quickly and things get stale. In some respects, this is too bad and in others, it is good. In any case, that is the pace of the world now. You might as well flow with things as they are. Besides, you have work to do on your new foundation of participation in the world. Work with and on establishing your new role.

Scorpio (Oct 22 - Nov 20)

Taking the initiative to make the beautiful dream a reality continues. Making decisions and following through on them is key. Once a precedent is set, you are likely to perpetuate the intention. The key is to take those important initial steps. You will realize that you can be comfortable and happy with the rhythms of your new routine, as you were with the old one. Thoughts and ideas about how to earn an income in new and interesting ways are strongly on your mind. It takes courage to break through lines of resistance, whether from within or without. You can do it!

Sagittarius (Nov 21 - Dec 20)

You are getting some strong wake-up calls these days. The time has come to expand your horizons. This may include acting on dreams that may be long overdue. Fortunately, the courage and determination to do so is rising. For now, you might simply clarify your objectives by outlining a plan. Call it a rough guideline. Make the dream big and colorful so that you feel inspired, but not too big if it seems out of reach and proportion to your actual needs and will. Once you have your plan of approach, your guideline or map, get into action!

Capricorn (Dec 21 - Jan 19)

The process of deciphering exactly what makes you special continues. While it may take time to fully actualize the reality of your dream, you can at least have an intention. What makes each person the most special, yet is something we all share, is their ability to express love. This we do each in our own special way. The key is to accept that there are many ways, as many ways as there are people. Trying to be different or separate to be special may look good but lack true happiness. Exploiting people or situations in any way is its own kind of poison. To feel good, genuinely focus on helping others feel good.

Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 19)

Making some important life decisions continues. This involves your social standing and possibly your career. You want things simple and do not need to be the center of attention. Downsizing may be an attractive option. You could even resign or happily demote yourself in order to have more time and peace. Perhaps someone else can hold the reigns. Continuing to build upon a new foundation of expression is a good idea. You are still in an apprenticeship phase, in certain respects. Patiently learn and build, you will get more assertive with your new skills soon enough. Lighten the load and clear the way!

Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)

You are actively exploring new territory and/or possibilities. New awareness' and skills are likely aspects of it all. Fortunately, you are open to the wisdom coming from others these days. In fact, you may be actively pursuing it. You want to feel connected and experience communion. Start wherever you are and with whomever is around. Do not limit yourself to who and what needs to occur. All you need is probably closer than you think. Trust that whatever is has a rhyme and reason for being this way. Avoid judgment and expectation about the way things ought to be, that is the mind. Flow with the actual currents from the heart.
