Horoscope for the Week of January 4, 2004

4 January 2004

Tip of the Week

In keeping with tradition, this first weekly Horoscope of the year will briefly outline some of the major themes during 2004 for each sign. While reading your own sign along with your "Ascendant" or rising sign, determined by your time and place of birth, as well as the sign or two that follows your own sign, due to the "Progression" of the chart, you could also read the themes for all of the signs.

The reason is, basically, twofold. First, every person is actually a blend of all the signs, planets, fixed stars and other sensitive points that Astrologers use is casting a birth chart. The influence that each point has on any given person is a part of the art of Astrology. Astrologers call it "weighing the chart". Since the Sun has the most weight of all, Horoscope columns like this one can actually work and ring true with insight and guidance and offer an overall picture of themes and events for any given period.

The second reason is to be more empathetically aware of what your family, friends and colleagues etcetera are experiencing. With this awareness, we can uplift and support one another more fully. We can be more consciously connected and supportive when we think about we.

Blessings for 2004!

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)

Building upon a foundation that both supports your own needs and wants as well as the ones you love continues in 2004. Learning to fully value what you have and what you can do is key. Overcome any fears of lack by recognizing that abundance is life's gift to all. Further, practically plant your seeds and tend to them with love and care. Curb your expectations and keep an open mind, yet do not scatter your energies too thin. Be specific with your needs and goals.

Taurus (Apr 21 - May 20)

Learning to be more assertive and decisive remains central in 2004. Avoid trying to be all things to all people and watch that you do not lean on others too much. Summon the courage to express the fullness of your individuality. Do not let pride or shyness slow you down. Watch that you do not project your expectations on others, especially children. Clearly communicate your needs and intentions with loved ones.

Gemini (May 21 - Jun 20)

Continue to see through and beyond appearances. Identify and intend to dissolve mental and emotional patterns anchored in security perceptions from the past. Let imagination and inspiration counterbalance logic and facts. Accept the choices of others. Cultivate gratitude for what you do have and bring your awareness to the here and now. Re-define what security actually means to you at this stage of your life.

Cancer (Jun 21 - Jul 21)

Developing a greater sense of universality wherein you can more fully appreciate the rights, freedoms, efforts and creative genius of individuals and groups is central in 2004. Cultivate an appreciation for differences and variety rather than who is better or worse, higher or lower. Learn to be accepting of what is and non-attached rather than aloof and indifferent. Still your mind, listen and see your self, others and life as it is, faithfully.

Leo (Jul 22 - Aug 21)

Assume a position of authority backed by the full measure of responsibility it requires. Intend to be more mature both within and without by expressing your thoughts and feelings with integrity, order and respect for the needs and rights of others. Develop a greater awareness of the fact that your family includes all of humanity. Determine your actual need, neither more nor less, for possessions, prestige and freedom.

Virgo (Aug 22 - Sep 23)

Learning what it means to make a commitment and living-up to it will continue in 2004. Develop discernment and discrimination of the big picture over the long-term. Accept that we need rules, laws and ethics as guidelines for harmony. Literally mind your own business, take pioneering initiatives, expand your mode of self-expression and go for exactly what you feel you need with enthusiasm.

Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 21)

Accept that change is an important part of life and learn to "let go and let God". Anchor your sense of security within rather than in externals, be it possessions or other people. Develop courage to shed old skins that represent lower values, attitudes and behaviours. Recognize the oneness that unites us all on both economic and spiritual levels. Be gentle with yourself and others and be open to spiritual guidance.

Scorpio (Oct 22 - Nov 20)

Cultivate a deeper sense of oneness in mind, heart and deed. This may imply volunteering some of your time. Recognize more fully the unique, individual needs of others. This means learning to truly listen to and recognize others for who they actually are beyond projections. Cultivate patience and diplomacy in your dealings in the market place. Balance these intentions with clarification of your dreams.

Sagittarius (Nov 21 - Dec 20)

To make the beautiful dream a beautiful reality you must cultivate more confidence, concentration and determination. A detailed, intelligent and refined approach is the other side of the deal. Recognize that bringing your inspirations into material form is an aspect of perpetuating good health. Develop practical skills with attention to the details. Be aware of and avoid extremes between too much and too little self-assertiveness.

Capricorn (Dec 21 - Jan 19)

Learning to create your reality with passion and joy rather than rebelliousness and indifference is a central theme in 2004. Engage your leadership skills and abilities on behalf of a greater collective. Develop an attitude of gratitude that reflects a creative and enthusiastic approach. Honour your needs for personal freedom without jeopardizing your duties and commitments. Communicate clearly and honestly.

Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 19)

Connecting to what is truly important to you rather than yielding to status quo expectations continues as a central theme. Learning to nurture the subjective needs of your soul and letting go of rigid mental patterns of control is key. The goal is to awaken to the individuality and actual needs of others. In groups, overcoming the need to be the center of attention. Acknowledge your needs for affection.

Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)

Translate your visions and philosophies in as many ways as you feel is necessary. Determine what are your true needs and what are fantasies. Learn to communicate your needs clearly and honestly and with sensitivity. Recognize the difference between the real and the ideal and focus on what you can achieve. Remember that reality is oneness experienced as diversity. Overcome needs for acceptance and focus more on self-respect.
